Egypt aspires to play a vital role in revitalizing global partnerships for sustainable development and enhancing international support for implementing effective and targeted capacity-building in developing countries, supporting national plans towards achieving their SDGs.
WFP Egypt country office has been at the forefront of advocating for and establishing a South-South cooperative, engaging in forming strategic partnerships with other organizations in Egypt and across the continent, and in May 2020, the 'Luxor Coordination Centre for Knowledge Sharing and Innovation to Promote Resilience in Upper Egypt', was officially approved by a presidential decree. Through the Center, WFP in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and other governmental entities will facilitate the exchange of best practices and innovations among governmental and civil society institutions, academia and research institutions, and neighbouring countries under the umbrella of South-South and Triangular cooperation.
In this regard, WFP Egypt established this online interactive platform to share the Egyptian experiences throughout the South-South cooperation as a broad framework of collaboration among countries. The platform will support and facilitate the knowledge-sharing and the international development cooperation across various development areas.
