A Community Hub is a community school that has been transformed into a centre for knowledge and learning, empowering teachers and communities with tools to access information to improve their lives and their children's, ultimately contributing to more excellent social stability and resilience. The community hub model strengthens the GOE's commitment to achieving Egypt's development outcomes by ensuring that children attending WFP supported schools have access to quality education in conjunction with supporting their families' livelihoods. This encourages families to keep their children in schools, preventing potential child labor, early marriage or possible illegal migration options.

Community hubs uses technology in an innovative way to ensure that vulnerable communities bridge the digital divide by equipping community schools with the needed infrastructure and tools to become knowledge hubs. On a broader level however, the community hub innovation offers strategic support to the Government of Egypt by facilitating the utilization and geographic reach of the knowledge bank initiative, launched by the presidency’s office in November 2015.
