Chronic malnutrition, maternal and child mortality are two of the main public health concerns in Egypt. Egypt’s 2014 Demographic and Health Survey recorded, 21.4 percent stunting, 16 percent overweight, and 5.5 percent of children under 5 being underweight. Another major challenge is overpopulation and its impact on a range of health issues.
