The following section comprises issues that transcend across all pillars of sustainable development. Firstly, Women empowerment and youth employment are imperative towards ensuring that growth is inclusive and sustainable. As part of Egypt's Vision 2030 national strategy, the GoE is breaking down barriers in women and youth employment by empowering the most vulnerable rural women and youth with the necessary resources and skills to improve their employability and self-reliance. Secondly, digital transformation, described as, the integration of digital technology into all business areas, has fundamentally changed how you operate and deliver value to customers.

Digital Innovation

Digitalization innovation is the use of digital technologies and digitized data to influence how we work. It has transformed how customers and companies engage and interact, and has created new digital revenue streams. According to the World Bank, digital identification has allowed millions of marginalized people to prove who they are, exercise their rights, and avail essential services like health or education.

Egypt

In alignment with Egypt Vision 2030 and Egypt's digital transformation strategy, the Government and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has embarked on building Digital Egypt. "Digital Egypt" is laying the foundations for the transformation of Egypt into a digital society.

Women Empowerment

Women economic empowerment and overall gender equality and inclusivity is one of the main thematic components of the wider rural economic development initiative that the Egyptian government is implementing with Vision 2030. Creating opportunities for women to be breadwinners for their families is extremely important in ensuring that development is widespread and gender equal.

Egypt

The 2014 Egyptian Constitution has significant provisions asserting women's equality and rights. The Egyptian Government has achieved considerable progress on the women's empowerment agenda in recent years. Several national strategies for women empowerment were developed and adopted, namely, the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030, National Strategy to Combat Violence against Women (VAW), National Strategy to Combat Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and the National Strategy to Combat Child Marriage.

Youth Employment

Egypt's youth represent an opportunity that, if not harnessed through inclusive growth, meaningful job opportunities, and social engagement, is likely to have adverse security ramifications for Egypt and the region. Creating jobs, increasing socio-economic chances and reducing unemployment rates are vital priorities for the Government. Because of the increasing mismatch of education and occupation among graduates not equipped for the 21st-century job market, Egyptian youth find themselves increasingly economically disadvantaged.

Egypt

Over the past 6 years, the Egyptian Presidency has put in immense effort towards rehabilitating the state of youth employment in the country. With the youth making up for 60% of Egypt’s population, it is indeed necessary to uncover ways to better integrate the youth into the working class.
