Egypt's youth represent an opportunity that, if not harnessed through inclusive growth, meaningful job opportunities, and social engagement, is likely to have adverse security ramifications for Egypt and the region. Creating jobs, increasing socio-economic chances and reducing unemployment rates are vital priorities for the Government. Because of the increasing mismatch of education and occupation among graduates not equipped for the 21st-century job market, Egyptian youth find themselves increasingly economically disadvantaged.

Over the past 6 years, the Egyptian Presidency has put in immense effort towards rehabilitating the state of youth employment in the country. With the youth making up for 60% of Egypt’s population, it is indeed necessary to uncover ways to better integrate the youth into the working class.
